Last updated: 29 June 2026

Habitar Studio is a brand of Applied Studio Pty Ltd (ABN 20 687 945 508) (“Habitar Studio”, “we”, “us” or “our”). We are an interior design practice based in Perth, Western Australia.

We are committed to protecting your privacy and to handling your personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use and disclose it, and the choices you have. It applies to our website at www.habitar.com.au and to your dealings with us.

1. Information we collect

We only collect personal information that is reasonably necessary for our functions and activities. This may include:

  • Information you provide directly — when you complete our contact or enquiry form, subscribe to our journal, or otherwise communicate with us. This may include your name, email address, phone number, the type of project you are enquiring about, and any details you choose to include in your message.
  • Technical and usage information — collected automatically when you visit our website, such as your IP address, device and browser type, pages viewed, referring website, and the date and time of your visit. This is collected through cookies and similar technologies (see section 4).

We do not seek to collect sensitive information (as defined in the Privacy Act) and ask that you do not provide it to us.

2. How we collect information

We collect personal information directly from you when you submit a form, subscribe to our journal, email or call us. We also collect technical information automatically through our website and the third-party analytics and advertising tools described in this policy. Where it is lawful and practicable to do so, you may deal with us anonymously or using a pseudonym, although we may be unable to respond to an enquiry without contact details.

3. How we use your information

We use personal information to:

  • respond to your enquiries and provide our design services;
  • send you our journal and other communications you have requested;
  • operate, maintain, analyse and improve our website and services;
  • measure the performance of our marketing and advertising; and
  • meet our legal, regulatory and record-keeping obligations.

We will only use your information for the purpose for which it was collected, a directly related purpose you would reasonably expect, or where you have consented or we are otherwise permitted by law.

4. Cookies, analytics and advertising

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to function correctly, understand how the site is used, and support our marketing. The third-party tools we use include:

  • Google Analytics, which helps us understand how visitors use our website. Google’s handling of this data is governed by its own privacy policy.
  • Meta (Facebook and Instagram) advertising tools, including the Meta Pixel and similar technologies. These allow us to measure the effectiveness of our advertising and to show relevant ads to people who have visited our website or interacted with us. Through these tools, Meta Platforms, Inc. and its affiliates may receive information about your visit and use cookies, web beacons and similar technologies to collect or receive information from our website and elsewhere on the internet, and use that information to provide measurement services and targeted advertising. Meta’s handling of this data is governed by Meta’s Privacy Policy.

You can manage or disable cookies through your browser settings, and you can control personalised advertising through your Meta ad preferences and Google ad settings. Disabling cookies may affect how parts of our website work.

5. Disclosure of your information

We do not sell your personal information. We may disclose it to:

  • trusted third-party service providers who help us operate our business — including our website hosting, email delivery, newsletter, analytics and advertising providers (such as Google and Meta) — who are only permitted to use the information to provide their services to us;
  • professional advisers and contractors engaged in delivering a project, where relevant; and
  • government, regulatory or law enforcement bodies where required or authorised by law.

6. Overseas disclosure

Some of our service providers (including our hosting, analytics, email and advertising providers) are located, or store data, outside Australia — including in the United States and other countries. Where we disclose personal information overseas, we take reasonable steps to ensure it is handled consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles.

7. Security and retention

We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from misuse, interference and loss, and from unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. We retain personal information only for as long as it is needed for the purposes described in this policy or as required by law, after which we take reasonable steps to destroy or de-identify it.

8. Accessing and correcting your information

You may request access to the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it if it is inaccurate, out of date or incomplete, by contacting us using the details below. We will respond within a reasonable time. If you have subscribed to our journal, you can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email.

9. Complaints

If you have a concern or complaint about how we have handled your personal information, please contact us first and we will work to resolve it. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at www.oaic.gov.au.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The current version will always be available on this page, with the date it was last updated shown at the top.
